Constantinos Kartalis ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR AT THE UNIVERSITY OF ATHENS

Constantinos Kartalis is a Professor at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens on environment, energy and climate issues. He is also Visiting Professor at the Hellenic Open University for the postgraduate program "Environmental Design of Cities", scientific associate of the ETVA Industrial Parks SA and the Piraeus Bank Cultural Foundation, Vice- Chairman of the UNESCO International Bureau of Education and expert of the European Commission Directorate General for Regional and Urban Policy.

He has been a visiting professor at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and has been declared Honorary Doctor at the Democritus University of Thrace. He has also been Chairman of the Hellenic Parliament Environment Committee, Member of the Parliament, Secretary General to the Ministry of Culture and Vice-Chairman of the GLOBE Network regarding matters of environmental legislation.

Constantinos Kartalis has been an elected member of the Scientific Committee of the European Environment Agency, BoD member of the same Agency, member of the Monitoring Committee for the Earth Monitoring Centre in the European Centre of Studies, national representative in European Union Programmes and member of Thematic Committees in the Directorate General for Research of the European Commission. Finally, he has published 85 papers in peer-reviewed international journals and is a reviewer in numerous international journals.
